Redhook Announce Debut Album “Postcard From A Living Hell” and Share New Single “Soju” Ft. Sly Withers

After great success and being well received with their EP “Bad Decisions” drop last year, Redhook have brought us the huge news that their debut album will be released next year April 21st and titled “Postcards From A Living Hell”. Along with this amazing announcement, they share the track “Soju” Ft. Sly Withers which is a big taste for what's to come next year when they deliver this tasty new treat of an album. A definite top collab of the year with Perth indie-rockers sly Withers, “Soju” is a pop punk bop from start to finish which will one hundred percent be a favourite at live shows including when the band take to Good Things Festival next month.
"I wrote 'Soju' about the perils of being a 'people pleaser' and the feelings of frustration and resentment that can boil up when you don't set healthy boundaries, and allow more assertive personalities to push you around. It’s a 'fuck you' song, but it's also simultaneously a 'fuck me' song because at the end of the day, it's up to each of us to prioritise our own needs and not compromise our values to keep the peace. Some people like me just struggle with it a bit harder than others." Vocalist Emmy Mack shares.
This track holds such a pop punk sound that is different from Redhook’s heavier stuff but still has some unique Redhook vibes that are much loved. The chorus packs a hook that digs itself deep into you, and is extremely catchy with Emmy Mack's smart use of lyrics, her always strong vocals, and the guitar chords that are strummed down in a way with a rhythm that totally completes it. Sly Withers does an incredible job with a verse of their own that makes this track solid as hell, and has it standing out from others. To top this, “Soju” also features a little sax solo towards the end along with group vocals screaming out the lyrics from the chorus repeatedly until the 2 minutes and forty seconds of pop punk goodness comes to an end. It really is another undoubtedly perfect tune that will have you so excited for the album next year. Check it out.
