Kai Cult Releases Ruthless New Single “Get Wound Away”
Noise-punk musician Kai Cult has returned with a brand new single titled “Get Wound Away”, serving as an absolute rush of power with ruthless vocals, striking guitar, and solid drums - you don't wanna miss this. Based in Melbourne, Kai Cult has received nothing but support for previous releases “ Massive Checks”, and “Cigarette Burns” as they gained traction by being featured on abc’s rage, and added to Apple Music playlist The New Rock.
The artist explains - “‘Get Wound Away’ is an energetic grunge song that draws inspiration from Hardcore Punk, Surf and Stoner Rock. I wrote the lyrics about the boredom and drudgery of the 9 – 5 slog, which at times can make you feel absolutely numb to everything in the world. At times, you just want to feel alive again, to live life on the edge. I wanted the song to be a shock to the system – a heavy, no holds barred punk song that would inject life and energy to listeners.”
A super charged bass line with a hard hitting drum beat puts this track into first gear with punk roots fully embedded into the sound from the start, which is how you know this track is going to be a good one. Then the stinging guitars and killer vocals explode over the top of the rhythm and create this full on raw punk sound that has your heart beating fast and your body pumping full of adrenaline. This track has such a great sound the whole way through, taking elements from underground punk mixed with a little grunge - it’s the perfect mix for any fans of the genre who will definitely take a liking to the single straight away. “Get Wound Away” is pure heavy perfection, and one of my favourite releases of the year with its strong soundscape taking hold of you.
