Citizen Rat Explode With New Release “Up On My Luck”

Citizen Rat are a sturdy four-piece punk outfit from the sunshine coast who are described as not really comparable to anything in their own words. Bringing you a brand new fast paced, heavy  track “Up On My Luck” which follows up from their last release in August “Don’t Wanna Be An American”, described by Hysteria Mag as a “grunge-filled champion of the 90’s sound”. “Up On My Luck” is the second little taste test we are getting from the boys forthcoming sophomore album “Looking Up From Down Below” which is due to be dropped October 14th. Citizen Rat is made up of Frontman Dartanyon Hutchinson, bass slasher Murray Law, hard hitting drummer Baxter Shordon, and lead guitarist Brendan Statham who each bring a whole lot of noisy punk antics to the stage and to their music.

Straight away, fast paced, punchy guitar chords kick off in a catchy progression while the drums hit harder than ever, Dartanyon comes swinging in huge with pure punk vocals that complete that raw punk sound that could have easily come out of the 90’s with its angsty and underground tones. With a bass line so loud, it could knock you over - a seriously powerful tone that you won’t easily forget. Towards the end, featuring some gut-wrenching screams across the track as the rhythm keeps punching on, it’s truly a wet dream for any punk fan to hear. Fueled by fiery tones, this song will have you fucking bouncing off the walls at any Citizen Rat show, injecting pure adrenaline into you, getting you hyped up and moshing.

“Up On My Luck” is certain to be at the top of your favourite tracks this month and as we await  the release of the band's album, you can bet your ass we over at Electric Dreams Media will have this punchy tune on repeat all day long. Make sure you check out the band on socials below as well as stream the track and show the band your support. Catch them attacking the stage on Saturday 17th of September at Mort's Brewing Co, Nambour with PHD, and Ball Point as they take you on the ride of your life with their energetic performance.
