What So Not Unveils Sophomore Album “Anomaly”
Producer & DJ Chris Emerson AKA What So Not has just released sophomore album “Anomaly” which features eleven top notch tracks that feature some incredible artists. Known for playing festivals all around the world, What So Not is known for dropping sick beats that have gained love on charts such as The Australian Singles Chart, Triple J Hottest 100, and even iTunes Dance Album Chart.
The album starts off with “Alive” which is one minute of bliss with clean vocals over the top of a low riding synth as “Make me feel alive” is sung over and over again really highlighting the contrasting vocals and tones. Next we are blessed with the title track “Anomaly” (Featuring AY AY) which kicks off with water sounds before entering into an explosion of dark beats until it builds up into a massive electronic mix which becomes intertwined with vocal melodies, making it a huge vibe. “Mr Regular” (Featuring Oliver Tree & Killer Mike) has a lofi feel from the start until it drops into a fiery rap section before entering back into that lovable lofi sound. The contrast on this track works so incredibly well and makes it a favourite on the album. Falling into the next tune “The Change” (featuring DMA’s) which is an absolute bop with the fast drum beats underneath the elevated vocals as it builds up into the chorus full of more mellow tones. “Halifax” (featuring Pi11a, Zoid Land & Tek Genisis) serves as another electronic masterpiece while “On Air” (featuring Louis The Child, Captain Cuts & JRM) comes full circle with a more laid back, chill soundscape before the EDM hits in the chorus’. What So Not has already given fans a steady catalogue of fucking amazing tracks so far in the album and definitely keeps that going through the second half with more subtle tracks like “Messin’ Me Up” (feat. EVAN GIIA), “Bad Piano” (Feat. Body Ocean & Lucy Lucy), and “Mercy” (Feat. MO). As we nearly hit the end of the sophomore album, “Black Shallow'' (Feat. Enschway) gifts our ears with two huge buildups that finally erupt into an enriching soundscape - another definite favourite on the album. Closing out is “As One” (Feat. Heizen) which runs for 4 minutes long and perfectly sums up the album and is the ideal way to end this sublime masterpiece.
