LIVE & LOCAL: Wicked Envy - The Factory Theatre - 19th November

Supporting Metallica The Tribute band at The Factory Theatre on Saturday the 19th of November, Sydney hard rock locals Wicked Envy infiltrated the support slot and warmed the venue up with their rock ballads, and entertaining antics. Kicking it off right, the band played an absolutely solid set of their tracks for around 40 minutes while also including a killer cover of The Smashing Pumpkins “Butterfly With Bullet Wings” that saw vocalist Des jump off the stage and interact with the audience, getting them to sing along.
Guitarist Jaz played effortless through rhythm parts, while adding sick guitar solos, fully shredding here and there, bassist Jakub played the bass hard and had the room vibrating from the dominant tones, drummer Paul smashed down on the drums, letting out loud crashes, and keeping everything in time, and how could we forget Des, one of the sweetest people ever - putting on a stellar performance, moving around on stage, projecting her powerful voice through the venue, while also playing the keys for one of my fav Wicked Envy songs, and finishing the set with her performance art of red paint placed down her face. These guys are always so entertaining to watch, and they always put on a really fantastic show for their audience. If you ever get the chance to catch them playing a show, do yourself a favor and jump on that chance because they are a talented group with a lot to give.
