Pretty In Pink Release Single ‘Pressure Socks’ Off Upcoming Album “Pillows”
You need to jump on the Pretty in Pink bandwagon and you need to do it now! Based from Naarm/Melbourne, the three-piece post punk band are bound to rock your socks off especially after the announcement of their sophomore album ‘Pillows’ out on September 1st. Along with a brand new single ‘Pressure Socks’ which truly showcases the band's sound that is enclosed on the upcoming album.
If you didn’t already know, the name Pretty In Pink is taken from the 1986 film - and like the movie, the band captures that nostalgic feeling for being an outsider among friends; the romantic allure of standing apart, of having to make your own scene.
‘Pressure Socks’ jumps straight in with rhythmic drum beats before a powerful, vibrant bass riff enters and fully keeps the track together while a little guitar lick is played over the top. Vocalist Claire McCarthy brings the most dense, raw vocals that truly grab your attention straight away and you can’t help but focus deeply on the lyrics as the instruments drive you through the story telling.
The drums and bass stay strongly consistent the whole way through while still being just as catchy since the start of the track, creating that minimalist sound that we are such a fan of - you don’t need too much to create a great track and Pretty In Pink prove that time and time again.
‘Pressure Socks” brings a slow groove and nostalgic feeling to the table that is so loveable and makes us even more excited to hear the album come September 1st.
To celebrate the release of this outstanding new track, the band will be playing a handful of single release shows that will start on the 23rd of June in Sydney, then make their way down to Canberra, Beechworth, and finish the shows up in Melbourne on the 26th of June.
Make sure you save the dates and hit up a show near you to hear ‘Pressure Socks’ is a live environment.
Don’t miss out - stream the new track today and give the band a lot of love because they truly deserve it.
