Good Lekker Bring Sparkling New Track “Show I Care” Out Into The World
Sydney based indie group Good Lekker are cruising through the start of the new year with a brand spanking new track “Show I Care”, bringing back those much loved synth sounds from their previous tracks while adding some indie flare to the mix.
"I tried to keep the lyrics as simple as possible in 'Show I Care'. To an extent, I want listeners to be able to imbed their own meaning into the song, however they relate to it. Context is impossible to escape when writing, however. This song reflects me, in my mid-20s, unsure of what comes next in life. It's about dragging others along for the ride while goals dissipate and past dreams begin to look foreign to yourself. It's about the transience of friendship as everyone moves on to different stages of life and the difficulties of keeping in touch. It's about trying to glue all these parts into a half-decent collage and loving what you make. Take your pick for what appeals to you." Vocalist Joshua Fahy explains.
The quick strums of the guitar strings jolt over the top of the grooviest little bass riff that drives the intro and verse to a melodic explosion of a chorus, filled with captivating vocals, and a hook of a riff that flows perfectly together. Showcasing the group's exceptional songwriting ability and musical talents, “Show I Care” has them striving for greatness this year and is the perfect addition to their discography.
