Wifecult is a Brisbane based alt-rock band bringing three exceptionally talented musicians together who are Jarith Hughes (ex-The Almost) on guitar and vocals, Brad Vander Lugt (La Dispute) on drums, and Joseph Keating (ex-Sunbleached) on bass and vocal harmonies - creating such striking and passionate music with one another, bringing us the best of the best. Back today with a brand new track “Hold It Down” along with the exciting news that their new EP ‘Kindness In Clarity, An EP' will be out on June 9th.

Nostalgic guitar riffs, and deep melodies is what makes “Hold It Down” as it drips with an incredibly hefty bassline underneath. Pristine vocals sway in and offer listeners an emotional support and understanding for those who are struggling with mental health. 

“Depression is a vulnerable subject, at times cheapened and worn out by our sterile societal approach to handle it, or the overuse of ‘mental health’ vocabulary thrown around in daily conversations. In its depths, this song is about watching a loved one truly struggle, lost in orbit, for a long time. Wishing I could pull them out of the dark, but still at times being there myself. It's trying to balance compassion and empathy with practical efforts to walk through it with them. It’s not the blind leading the blind.
