Psychedelic Porn Crumpets were ready to kick off their Night Gnomes Album Tour in Sydney last night as the line outside the Crowbar grew longer and longer as eager fans awaited the doors to open. Even though the main act wasn't hitting the stage until 10:30, the venue quickly started to become packed out before the first band took to the stage.
And that first band was a force to be reckoned with, Organs who played a solid thirty minute set and easily warmed everyone up with their loud and impressive music which the ever-growing crowd loved. Organs are sure to gain more fans after last night because after witnessing their set you can’t help but be an instant fan. They really captivated the audience with their infectious tunes and overall played a really great set.
If you haven’t heard of The Buoys by now, then I'm sorry to tell you that you’ve been living under a rock. This incredible band put on a really rad performance and every time you see them you love them even more. The four piece have powerful stage presence, you seriously can’t take your eyes off them while they play their catchy as fuck songs that you can dance your heart out to and they had the crowd do just that - dance - there was so much dancing in that small, crammed venue and the smiles on everyone’s faces lit up the room as they all enjoyed every moment of The Buoys set.
By the time 10:30 rolled around, you could barely move in the band room. The energy was high and only rising more and more as everyone waited with great enthusiasm for PPC to start. As soon as the band walked out on stage, the crowd erupted in loud screams that were almost deafening with how excited the crowd were. As the band started to play, you could feel the floor start to vibrate between the sound of the band and the moshing of the crowd, people were getting pushed around all directions in the pit, with the biggest smiles on their face, hands in the air, and screaming lyrics out. Crowd surfers surfed their way around the room from the first song that was played - the atmosphere was strong from the first note played to say the least. The band performed for around an hour and it was a really solid performance as each member moved around on stage, headbanging to the beat of the drum and giving their all to their gritty performance.
Crowbar always has the good vibes , and last night was no different especially with a line-up of kickass bands that had everyone let loose and mosh their hearts out.
