The Last Martyr Return With New Track “Comedy/Tragedy”
Melbourne’s own metalcore four-piece The Last Martyr return with a piping hot new track “Comedy/Tragedy” which has been released just in time for the bands upcoming appearance at UNIFY Off The Record, where they will debut the track in a live setting for fans.
Vocalist Monica Strut describes:
"So many of us wear a mask or play a character in our everyday lives and in a lot of ways, it helps us, but there comes a point where being incongruent with your true self, or ignoring certain negative aspects of our lives starts to take a huge toll. The song is written from the perspective of being aware that something is wrong but not wanting to admit it yet. It’s sarcastic, angry and just a little unhinged."
“Comedy/Tragedy” is the perfect showcase of The Last Martyr’s talents as it has a fantastic, chaotic blend of electronic elements with that heavy, bold foundation holding it together. The low growl of the guitars lead the single into Strut’s vicious screams while the underlying electronic tones cascade throughout, making it a contrasted heavy tune that is putting the band ahead of the rest this year.
Since forming back in 2019, The Last Martyr have done nothing but release powerful track after track and gained fans with their sharp, appealing live shows.
Making waves in the local metalcore scene, the band has a distinctive sound that is chaotically brutal and real. You’ll love this The Last Martyr just as much as we do - stream the new track now!
