1. Jurassic
Absolutely LOVE this band. They are killer live, every song they’ve put out rocks so hard and they are genuinely some of nicest people you’ll ever meet. Their lead vocalist Robbie has an incredible scream on him and Ange is flawless on backups. Check them out!
2. R.U.B
They’re making a lot of buzz in Melbourne right now and for good reason – this band is unashamed to be exactly who they are and I love it. So much EDGE, raw and real with killer tunes. R.U.B for the win.
3. Glowing
There is something in the water in Adelaide right now, I could have picked all 5 bands from there for this list, but something compelled me to pick Glowing. I first heard them on the Domestic La La Tuna Tuesday playlist and immediately loved it. Their tunes have a nostalgic quality that I love, but they still sound new and fresh. Big fan.
4. Divers
There is no other way to put this – Divers are the most underrated band in Australia. You should listen to their music right now. Start with ‘Familiar Patterns’ and then just go down the rabbit hole.
5. Peni Parker
It’s so cool to hear a band doing something out of the box that works. It’s tough, it’s heavy, it’s original and Peni Parker have such a cool and unique sense of style to go with it. Really hope to play a show with them one day!
Extra special mentions to: Cheap Skate, Damaged Goods Club, Kitschen Boy – damn there are so many good bands right now
