Hai. I’m GEM - Producer/ DJ/ Artist. I feel like in today’s world of bedroom production, locked away in covid restrictions, artists are taking control back and learning how to do more themselves. I LOVE THAT, because the more you can communicate your own sound and what you want direction wise, the closer to the truth the production will be.

Today’s the day that GEM has finally dropped a brand new EP titled “Healing Feelings” and is none other than a real treat. The six track EP serves as a reintroduction to the artist as she starts with the parts of herself that she hides the most. You can check out the EP now, which is streaming everywhere.
On top of this great release, GEM has shared with us her top 5 female artists which you can read below.

  1. Stevie Nicks - The voice, the songs, the style- the EVERYTHING. I always go back to Dreams as one of my favourite songs and moments in time. She is one of the GOATS. I love listening back to the vocals, hearing the untunes 70s vibes, raw and unfiltered.

  2. WET - The gorgeous production and the gentle, causal, chilled approach. She inspired me to look at new ways to do vocal stacks and a really strong reverb with no tail.

  3. Sabrina Carpenter- Because I liked a boy. I love the honest, frank feminist approach here. It’s brilliant. Fronting the name calling of women and labelling.

  4. King Princess- I am really inspired by her live shows. Also coming from a studio background I adore Electric Lady Studios where she records. 1950’s was a stunning record. I saw her perform in LA and was really encouraged by her musicality and live show.

  5. Tove Lo - I really dig dark pop when it’s great. I really was inspired by the genre blending she did with grunge and electronic. It really opened my eyes to mixing unusual elements.
