alt. Drops New Single ‘FRIENDINTHEDARK’ Ahead Of Debut Album

‘FRIENDINTHEDARK’ is the brand new single from Adelaide’s alt. which has been taken from their upcoming debut album ‘ABEYANCE’, due to be released this Friday the 16th June via Resist Records and SharpTone Records for the rest of the world. Succumbing to the darkness, you are welcomed by electronic infused vocals which quickly melt into a powerful melodic soundscape. Turning up the heat as screams swoop into your ears during the bridge and create a cataclysmic eruption of guitar and drums that really showcase a dark pop tone for the band.

"FRIENDINTHEDARK came about when someone I know was auditioning for a role in a teen slasher film during COVID when everything was being filmed in Australia," shares alt. vocalist Daniel Cullen-Richards. "The idea excited me and brought to mind the movies I grew up watching as a kid like Scream, Freddy Vs Jason and I Know What You Did Last Summer, etc. That inspired me straight away and I put myself in the slasher film and wrote the lyrics in five minutes about a character who is at threat by any of their friends to be the victim in our song."

Hitting the scene in 2019, alt. have performed with the likes of Don Bronco, Belle Haven, and Karnivool as well as joining Windwaker on tour around Aus next month.
With just 3 days until their debut album ‘ABEYANCE’ is released into the world, we are getting super excited for what this band is about to unleash upon us and you should be too.
